(CW: body horror, cancer/death mention)

HELLO !!!!

Here's an official update on the Lifetime Achievement Award Animatic! featuring all the details and how you could get a sneak peek at a whole minute of animation!

I come baring good news! I realize my little twitch audience knows all the progress so far on this project but here on YouTube no one really knows what's been happening. I was reading the comments on the storyboard today and realized just how much I want to update you all. So I beg you please read all of this if you can. Thank you.

I want to cover 2 points.

1. Where I've been/What's the hold up?

I think it was June 2021 I started work on the animatic. Already I ran into a bunch of technical issues. And by a bunch I mean A BUNCH. I believe almost all of them are fixed now, but at the time it was very frustrating.
Then, I started my real life job in august of 2021 (which only keeps me busy during school days) and it was really exhausting. After work everyday I had no energy and could only eat, sleep, and repeat the process. Any day I didn't have work there was always some real life thing that needed to be done.
Then 2022 happened and in May I built my new PC. This fixed a good portion of technical issues I had. But I didn't really continue work as much as I wanted, as I had some big life things going on. I was prepping for some Artist alleys and my cat had started showing his first signs of his stomach cancer. Of course we didn't know that it was that at the time. So between prepping the booth, taking Sam to his vet appointments and cleaning his messes at home, I didn't have much energy to work on it. Despite that I still managed to chip away at it. August 1st Sam passed away. Then August 2nd I turned 22. And then real life work started again. So obviously, it took me some time to recover from that.
I've realized this year that I've gotten better at working, so I'm not actually totally exhausted when I get home. I learned how to manage my time and projects. With everything going on, the animatic was at the back of my mind. It wasn't until last month when I remembered it after the song came on my spotify. I felt so guilty for practically forgetting it, I dreaded watching back the storyboard, fearing I'd be overwhelmed with this huge, looming, intimidating project that I wasn't good enough to finish. Because truth be told, it's not just the animatic that I haven't had time to work on but just art in general. I think I even went a month without drawing anything. It felt awful. I couldn't find the time, and the art block was huge.
Then this December I forced myself to draw. I made a sketchy comic that blew up on TikTok. Now out of my funk, I went to my family's Christmas party. While there, I talked with my cousin who has been very supportive of my art the past couple years. He said he noticed I uploaded on youtube that day. He's referring to the Merry Holidays 2022 redraw. I mentioned how I put more effort into editing it than other speedpaints. Then he offered his skills if I ever needed help with editing. By god it was a Christmas miracle since just a few weeks before this I was thinking how maybe I needed to hire an editor to help with this animatic. I explained to him my issues with editing it and he said he could help.

2. What's the plan/ when will it be done?

I've been taking this holiday break from work to organize this project and plan out deadlines. I'm organizing everything in a way that will be easy for me and my cousin to work on this most efficiently. So hopefully when we enter the new year everything will run on this schedule. I would rather not share the deadlines because I can only take so much pressure. Just know this project moved from like the 5th spot to the number one spot on my to do list.
I'm hesitant on sharing when I aim to have it done because life is so, you know, lemon filled. But I believe in putting your goals out there. It makes them more likely to get done.

So, now that I have an editor, I aim for this to be done in 2023. 🎉
(Before my cousin offered his help it definitely wouldn't have gotten done until 2024.)

Thank you so much for reading. I've attached some sneak peeks at what the animatic is looking like.

Want more updates?
Currently a Whole Minute of the video is done! If you want to see that now, then head over to my patreon. (although you do have to be 18+) sorry. patreon.com/corpseil
If you can't do that then maybe you can catch me streaming progress on my Twitch.
previously I had animated pretty much every second on my Twitch stream and I'm not sure if I'm going to continue doing that. It's become an "I want to work on the animatic but I don't want to stream" thing and I end up getting no work done. I won't completely stop streaming progress on Twitch but I'm just gonna be working on it a lot more off stream now. Also please don't visit the stream and ask to see everything that's done so far. I know you don't mean it in a rude way, but if I show any progress on Twitch it won't be because someone asked to see what's done so far.

I hope this update was satisfying. Thank you everyone who commented on the Storyboard. Reading those comments fills me with so much joy and inspiration. Thank you.
