Stone against stone ground surfaces. The grains are flattened, not broken out.

Yes!

The power feed build has been completed. I just need to look for a nice print for the front panel. Works great!
The video is coming soon.

With the rack and pinion for the Andonstar finale still days away, I started a new project.

Busy now building a power feed for my Proxxon FF500/BL milling machine. The intention is that I can provide the X-axis with 5 or 6 well defined feed rates.

No gears, no clutch, no ugly motors from a car, no Arduino computer. Just a small metal box on my mill, an on/off switch, a reversing switch, and a rotary speed switch.

But despite this simplicity, it must have a higher usability than the wiper motor solutions that you see more often on YouTube. A stepper motor and driver and some small modifications at the bed of the FF500 should do the trick I hope.

And it should also look more elegant than the wiper motor solution shown!

Here's the Vickers to Rockwell C conversion chart I use.
Also a screenshot of the Excel sheet in which I calculate the hardness in Vickers. And an approximation formula to convert Vickers in Rockwell within 1% precision.

Maxed out my lathe to turn a steel canister, heated up my oven.
Case hardening goes well and has a few surprises in store.

The hardness calibers have arrived. That's going well!
Meanwhile, I'm annoyed by a broken single flute bit that ruined my beautiful measuring screen.
Start the case hardening experiment in two days.
Yes I can read Chinese! (after OCR and on-line translation that is..)
