What do you feel could be improved upon in my videos? From video length to my analysis, the perspective I take?

I can't change my own biases and conclusions, but I'm curious if there's something that needs immediate improvements. I've gotten better at this in the past couple years, but I'm positive my channel will be very different a year from now.

Also, if I were to re-launch YouTube Paid Subscriptions, what would you like to see provided on the backend?

I goofed and accidentally deleted that last video. Just re-uploaded. Sorry if I'm hitting you with duplicate content.

Man, it's hard making content about VR when all you wanna do is play VR. I'm pretty sure any creator who uploads daily and can comment on a game he's "played all the way through" is full of crap.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. If there's a game you really wanna know about let me know in the comments. We'll see who among you can drag me away from MSFS 2024 and Elite Dangerous.

Has anyone played Elite Dangerous? How in the world do you get good at this game? It's too big!

This is going horribly. I was supposed to have uploaded gameplay footage of EXOcars by now. But what started as troubleshooting this sim rig quickly turned into adding a HOTAS, trying Squadrons, discovering I'm in love with the haptic pad's audio-to-haptic feature, and then I was suddenly trying Elite Dangerous for the first time, which is like trying to hike the Amazon rainforest for the first time. Stupid problems to have, but I'm happy to have them.

I gave my kid an old Google Cardboard I had from 2015 and attached a halo strap to it with hot glue. It's the ugliest, jankiest thing you've ever seen, but he's in love with it because it's all his. Pictures to come a bit later. I think the resolution on his Galaxy phone looks about on par with the 3S.

I forgot how limiting 3dof was, but I'll be damned if some of those games aren't still magic.

Pretty cool seeing that Meta Quest advertising on the ropes! Was hoping Meta would have had a 360 camera for a viewing in the Horizon Feed. What a missed opportunity.

Well, I just discovered I've been able to get 10% off on any Meta Quest game this whole time and had no idea. So that sucks.

If anyone wants that discount on a game that's just come out, drop a comment and I'll provide that discount.

VR has a problem. I think we're all guilty of it occasionally. But people are so bent on praising a game upon release - because good games are so few and far between, and because people want to justify the purchase they made - just to have most games succumb to ghost town status a year later.

Where's Death Lap? Storm Land? Jet Island? How many people are playing Lies Beneath? In Death Unchained? I'd be shocked if they were registering more than 50 downloads a month lately.

Compare that metric to flat screen games . Left 4 Dead 2, Portal, HL2, and even Worms Armageddon are alive and thriving. This industry is blood thirsty and it's rarely evergreen.

Don't get caught up in the hype. Don't settle. Judge a game on it's merits. Did it push a boundary? How is it unique? What are it's actual faults? What's the replay value?

Someone will downvote this post just because it suggests some games aren't great. And to that person I'd say this:

You're not doing yourself any favors by saying a standalone game is better than Alyx. That's patently absurd. But saying you like a game despite it is the better path forward. Chips will get better, game elements will improve, and expectations will force developers to think outside the box.

That's the latter, and I prefer it. The former will ensure you get the same thing for another three years.

The chipset is marginally responsible for Batman's lack of an open world. Plenty of games deliver larger spaces. It's the juxtaposition of textures and characters, which makes for a difficult problem.

Not an impossible problem. And by complaining openly about it instead of claiming it's better than Alyx will encourage developers to work differently within those limitations.

Batman is incredible. It's doing things with combat that I'm not seeing anywhere else. But it won't be for everyone, and having complaints is completely valid. Saying it's PCVR quality, however, is not.
