I have a video in the works right now, first in almost a year (wow), detailing where I've been, the future of the channel and why I'm still not gonna make videos for a long while. It pretty much explains everything I already said in that community post a couple months ago, but since nobody ever really sees these, I figured putting it in video format would be smarter. Should be done in a week or so. Let's hope I don't overwork myself again on a video talking about how I overworked myself.

Here's the synopsis for By The Book (Formerly Case: Closed, can't change the pic here tho oh well)
Penny, a promising detective-in-training, is suddenly thrust into the case of a lifetime when tragedy befalls her hometown. Now, building a tight circle of friends she meets in her travels, she works to clean up everyone's cases, all while working towards figuring out who's responsible for what happened to her home.

Hey there, y'all. STILL ALIVE. Just gave myself really bad hand pain doing the last video and it threw a wrench in everything and got me thinking about how much I'm willing to do for the 'tube and all that. Gave myself a couple months off for my hand to heal, since I could barely move it, let alone draw. Guess I forgot to say anything, since I figured I'd be coming back after the few months were done, but here we are at month 6, hands still hurts and I'm just now saying somethin. Whoops. Long story short, I really burnt myself out with the last one, mentally just as much as physically, and videos stopped looking as attractive an output as they once did. The scale of work I want to do just isn't very viable when competing with the speed of production Youtube demands. Looking ahead, I only saw more hand hurty if I tried to keep up with what the platform demanded to keep me in the dreaded algorithm. So I took an 'extended break', which eventually led to me thinking that a 25 minute voice acted episode linking several previous videos' storylines together WAS a good punctuation for the channel. You might get where I'm going with this.
My priority with these videos was always the story. I featured the number crunchy stuff just cus it seemed like the thing to do, but my highest priority was always making a fun story. That's why the MM finale didn't feature a breakdown of any kind. Didn't want it to get in the way of the narrative (plus everyone knows a dragon's stats by now, come on). After this break though, and all the nursing I've done for my hand, I came to the conclusion that there are much less destructive, less mentally and physically taxing ways of telling a story than trying to make good-looking, meaty videos for the ever-ravenous YT algorithm. I'm not gonna destroy my hand for 60k views, y'know? That's why I started a weekly comic! Something to continue telling the big woven narratives that I like to do without splitting my good hand in half. So that's what I've been up to behind the scenes. Videos are on the backest of burners, and I'm making a comic. It's set in the same universe as all my videos. I'm always a sucker for a connected timeline. There'll be a bigger community post later on about it. That's pretty much the sitch, though.
I'm much more terminally online and obnoxiously loud on my Twitter, so if you're interested in seeing more art (ie goblins and the like) from me or updates on if I plan on putting anything else out on this channel, throw a follow there. That's pretty much all I have to say. This isn't me abandoning you all, as I'm sure that's how some will take it, I'm super grateful for everything you've helped me build here and the momentum you've given my art career, it's honestly astounding and I can't fully put into words just what it all means to me. I'm just a dude making drawings and you all helped make that day to day reality my job. That's incredible. Not abandoning anybody! Not forgetting either. I'm just putting my drive and ambition into a different gear. One that can help me continue my art and story telling, keep it marketed and in the public eye more effectively, and above all else, keep my body intact and not in excruciating amounts of pain, during or after! Making a comic is definitely the best route for that, since I was sorta making them already, just with a voice element and a more grueling schedule. It's familiar territory, is what I mean. Familiar but better for me in the long term. Sorry if you liked the talking part, but you may be excited to hear I'm also starting an ASMR podcast soon as well. I'm not, that is a joke. Anyway, enough babbling, that's all I have to say, boiled down into a cool 3 blocks of text.

Hey there, long time since I've used the community tab, but I figured this is important enough to stick here!
Recently, my tablet took a nose dive and broke on me, interrupting my video work and requiring me to shell out a bunch of dough to buy a new one.
Long story short, the new one came and now I'm getting used to it and all that jazz.
