I don’t really post here, especially about how I’m feeling. But I’m truly grateful for you - my audience. Its weird. I’m so terrified of screwing up in front of you, making obvious mistakes, and making myself look like a fool. But I’m also overwhelmed with gratefulness, joy, and pride at the same time for what I’ve built. So thank you for being apart of them.
My vision for Catan on YouTube is grow it as big as Poker/Chess. If Poker and Chess can be so big, why can’t Catan? I ask myself that question often. Then I realize I’m the biggest Catan creator, and that to pressure grow the scene eats at me, and that paralyzes me with fear and anxiety.
I’ve been tied down with work and other obligations for the past 2 months and have barely managed to get the videos out. And while I’m happy to be posting again, I also feel a deep sense of shame since I know they could be so much better.
Even today, when people in my life ask about YouTube, I actively tell them to not watch because I don’t think the videos are good enough. And when I think about, that’s fucking silly as shit.
So many people wish to be in my spot as a creator, and here I am getting all caught up and stuck in my head, getting in my own way. And ironically, this overthinking definitely shows up in all of my videos and gameplays, where I doubt my every move. Terrified to make a mistake instead of trusting myself.
Anyways, I’m committed to being honest and vulnerable to you, the viewer. And that’s something kinda scares me, but is also liberating at the same time.
Okay, back to the Catan stuff. Definitely more content to come. And definitely improvements will come along the way.
There will be a day where Catan on YouTube is 100x bigger than what it currently is now. Mark my words. I love this game and scene too much to let it be this small.

The creator of Catan, Klaus Teuber passed away yesterday at 70 years old. I'm just a guy who makes internet videos, but Catan definitely improved my life. It's brought me friendships, career opportunities, memories, and an entire community that loves this game. He'll definitely be remembered by me and millions of others.

I won my regional tournament and was invited to the 2019 US National Catan tournament where I placed 21st. I'm currently around the top 25 rankings in online Catan and hope to continue further.
