Shelly Peiken is a GRAMMY nominated multi-platinum American songwriter who has been a prolific, behind-the-scenes force in the music business for more than two decades. She is best known for penning culturally resonant, female-empowerment anthems such as Christina Aguilera’s No. 1 hit, “What a Girl Wants,” the first #1 song of the century and GRAMMY nominated, #2 Rock smash hit, “Bitch.” Shelly’s songs have appeared in many films and TV shows including “What Women Want,” “The Blind Side,” “Orange Is The New Black,” “30 Rock,” “Glee,” “Smash” and many more.Her book Confessions of a Serial Songwriter, a memoir that chronicles her journey from a young girl falling under the spell of magical songs to writing hits of her own, earned her a second GRAMMY nomination for Best Spoken Word Album. After decades of writing songs and years of creators’ rights advocacy with SONA (songwriters of North America), Shelly is thrilled to be making an album of her own — 2.0 etc...will release this summer.
