The Church Music Association of America (CMAA) works to promote sacred music in the Catholic liturgy and was founded in 1964.
The Association publishes books and a quarterly journal, and reaches out through the Internet with resources on Gregorian chant and classic choral music.
CMAA conducts national and regional educational events, including our annual six-day Sacred Music Colloquium and the Chant Intensive course.
Established as the Second Vatican Council drew to a close, CMAA brought together the American Society of St. Cecilia (founded 1874) and the St. Gregory Society (founded 1913). It inherits the rich history of these organizations, especially as the publisher of Sacred Music magazine (now on volume 144).
