Zapping with a stylish swagger from the post-punk scene that defined the early eighties, Blue Zoo always wore their glam influences (and eyeliner) with pride and brought to the table a pop sensibility and uniquely eclectic repertoire of chart hits and critically acclaimed tunes such as, Love Moves in Strangeways, I’m Your Man and Cry Boy Cry. The band was lauded for their live performances, full of brash-flash attitude and atmospheric melodrama, which saw them as forerunners to bands like Suede and Mansun in the nineties.
Now !! Blue Zoo are back on the beat ‘n’ track with their new single “Funganista. The first in a series of new releases planned for 2017. Original members Andy O (vocals), Mike Ansell (bass) and Micky Sparrow (drums) have teamed up with guitarist, engineer and producer Tom E Morrison and are in the process of producing a stream of new material.
