Having been in the dog rescue and rehabilitation process for over twenty years, at one point, there were 17 dogs on my property which were adopted from "kill" shelters. Unfortunately, I lost my career as a master ASE auto technician to a cat scratch received from one of the animals adopted. This resulted in heart surgery and partial kidney failure which forced an early retirement. I don't regret one single day because these dogs have taught me so much about life.
