Born in Scarborough, Ontario and coming from Jamaican and West Indian backgrounds, Tevin Douglas- known as NINETYFOUR- was influenced by the heavy rhythmic reggae, dancehall and R&B from his upbringing. Realizing he had a natural instinct for music early on he began producing beats on an electric piano for his older brother to freestyle over. Finally coming to a place where he was comfortable and confident as an artist NINETYFOUR put together It’s Yours; a narrative of the young singer’s life leading up to the projects release. Top singles, “It’s Yours” & “Off That”, continue to receive steady play almost a year after being a released to Spotify - garnering over 80k plays each on that platform alone. Drawing comparisons to fellow Greater Toronto Area success stories Roy Wood$, PartyNextDoor and Tory Lanez - as well as trap soul upstart Bryson Tiller - the burgeoning crooner remains true to the influences of his upbringing while adding in his own absorbing appeal to the modern slow jam.
