Public Institution Akmene History Museum was founded early 2017. We are actively researching local history, host archeological expeditions and assemble ethnographers by scheduling meetings. We involve the youth as well as history teachers into the archeological expeditions. We assembled a big team of volunteers and comrades. In the past year we managed to find more than 10 unknown old graves as well as other important heritage places of unknown origins. We managed to get some of them included in the list of protected territories. Every year we complete at least a few projects thanks to which we are able to have archeological expeditions, release a book, mark Vegeriai, Akmene and Klykoliai synagogues. We assemble conferences and take part in our partners conferences with presentations. We work with the Lithuanian National Museum, Akmene community, youth center "IVIDU", good will foundation, Lithuania-Ukraine cultural center and many more.
