It's amazing how big of a difference is to be playing without any mouthpiece patch on the mouthpiece. Easier response, easier articulation, more core and emission. I just had a short playing session with my engraved 5RV Lyre which I had some months I wasn't playing and this is something else! Totally changed my opinion, though that goes to all mouthpieces I had played with mouthpiece patch for some time and now without It. Another recent experiment for me was the nickel plated Bonade over the gold one. Nickel one has more resonance but gold one has better hold to the sound. It's a toss up.

About Vandoren M13 Lyre and D'addario Reserve X0 clarinet mouthpieces... Vandoren has the more comfortable facing. D'addario has potential though It feels a little close being 1.00m opening compared to 1.02mm of M13 Lyre. Beak also isn't as narrow as M13 Lyre(profile 88) which would benefit but the rubber I feel is better quality than Vandoren's. The lack of resonance and body to the sound comes by the facing and tip opening of the D'Addario. I strongly believe the X5 will be a closer comparison to the M13 Lyre.
Thank you for your support! Stay tuned!
Happy listening!!

If you play Vandoren M15, M13 or M13 Lyre mouthpieces, I highly recommend you trying V12 number 3.5 with their back rubbed a little or trimmed number 3. Between six M13 Lyre pieces, I got one very good and another one close to It. The others were not as responsive.

This is a short of an older participation, me playing here. It was an anniversary, Bell Epoc, 100 years since the end of World War 1. Beautiful pieces! Enjoy.

In my last mic comparison video I noticed there is some noise during clarinet playing which is not at all in my recorded files. Maybe should choose a different setting for video converting? Such thing didn't happen in the past. I'll check that in my next video but If anyone knows, let me know. I didn't notice It right away, just now did. I use Sony Vegas pro 17.
