Sealaska Heritage is a Native nonprofit founded in 1980 to perpetuate and enhance Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian cultures of Southeast Alaska. Its goal is to promote cultural diversity and cross-cultural understanding through public services and events. Sealaska Heritage was established by Sealaska, one of 13 Alaska Native Regional Corporations formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, after being conceived by clan leaders, traditional scholars and Elders. Our headquarters in the Walter Soboleff Building in downtown Juneau includes a library and archive, a cedar clan house, art installations and exhibits, and a retail store.
