On February 8, 1980, DEF LEPPARD and IRON MAIDEN both released singles. For the Leps it was HELLO AMERICA and for Maiden it was RUNNING FREE with the controversial cover art of Eddie taking out Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
There are so many times that these two bands have crossed paths in their respective careers and this was just one of those times when they released singles on the same day. Probably, no one would have predicted back then that both of these bands would still be at it 45 years later playing shows all over the world to sell-out crowds in 2025.

The song would make it to Number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 and help spur the album LOVE AT FIRST STING to Number 6.

KILLERS by IRON MAIDEN was released 44 years ago, on February 2, 1981.
The sophomore follow up was the final album to feature Paul Di'Anno on vocals. Sadly, we lost Paul last year on on October 21st and Clive Burr back in 2013.

Released 41 years ago, on January 30, 1984... SLIDE IT IN from WHITESNAKE!
It's a tale of two albums, the original UK version with MICK MOODY on guitar and COLIN HODGKINSON on bass was released on January 30th. The album was then remixed and resequenced for the American market with JOHN SYKES on guitar and NEIL MURRAY on bass. This second version was release on April 16th.
