I think Christians have forgotten that cursing is a sin. There's absolutely no excuse for this, if we do curse we have to repent right away. How can we claim to be Christians if we can't control our tongues through the Holy Spirit? Our words are one of the most important things in our lives, and God listens to each and every one of our words. He is literally writing all of our words down according to scripture.
The question is this: how much do you want God to bless you? If the answer is a lot, then follow his commands through the power of the Holy Spirit. But if you are content being lukewarm, then you may continue your lifestyle with none of God's blessings.
"But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth." (Colossians 3:8)
"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." (Ephesians 4:29)
"I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:36-37)
"Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving." (Ephesians 5:4)
"And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”" (Matthew 15:10-11)
"If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless." (James 1:26)

Matthew 5:11-12
Rejoice when people talk bad about you, when they discriminate against you because you're a real Christian. They did the same to our Lord Jesus Christ and the prophets, so you're in good company. God bless

”If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.“
Romans 10:9-10
