Meet JD. Somebody set this channel up for me (and you) to help show how NOT to act at youth sports games. There are times when we, as parents, are going to get frustrated and maybe even bark at an umpire/ref. But, when we do, we need to check ourselves and try to keep it civil.
Sports, for all ages, supports valuable life lessons for the players. Sports are for the kids... Not us. They are CHILDREN playing a GAME. When I called the opposing parent a "Fag Boy" for taking video, is that helping my kid, or anybody in any way? Probably not. When I waited in the parking lot for the guy to try and fight him, is that setting a good example for my son and/or any of the other kids on the team and their siblings? Probably not. Also, If you want to complain to a coach, take him/her aside after a game or practice. If you have a problem with opposing parents, swallow it and let the officials handle it. Hopefully this helps some of us realize how to act at sporting events.
