As the Mother Church of Black Catholics in the Nation’s Capitol, St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church is called to witness our faith in the Living God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit while preserving our Black Catholic Heritage. We are a strong community of believers who continues in the tradition in which it was founded: to advance the education of our children; lead ALL people to a personal and life-changing encounter with Christ through the proclamation of the Gospel, celebration of the sacraments, prayer, and service; and promote the spiritual, economic, and social development of all people.
