The City of LaFayette is the Home of the Honeybee Festival and the Gateway to Your Outdoor Adventures in Northwest Georgia. LaFayette is called the Queen City of the Highlands, as we are nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. LaFayette resides in Walker County, Georgia with 6,702 residents and counting. We are 30 minutes south of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Each year, LaFayette is host to the annual Honeybee Festival which occurs on the first weekend in June. It's a free to attend event with live music, barbecue competitions, honey competitions, countless vendors, a Kids Zone, lots of delicious food and so much more. The evening closes with musical performances from top headliners in today's music industry.
LaFayette has deep historical roots to the Civil War including the planning of the Battle of Chickamauga in September 1863.
