Whether it's hanging out of a helicopter, wading waist deep in water (car keys don't like salt water by the way), lying in the sand, climbing on top of a set of starting gates, you gotta do what you gotta do to get the shot right! And if you don't get the shot with all that effort, well it will be one hell of a story.
When an unknown horse jumped into a crowd of people at Warrnambool and an unknown photographer happened to get the shot, we were both thrown into the spotlight. Banna Strand for being "that horse" and me being "that photographer". That photographer, who went from a nobody to the front page of every paper in the country. My Dad (using Google for the 1st time, proudly told me my photo had made The New York Times).
So now, I follow my love of the horse, and my passion for racing and breeding industry and get to photograph and film these majestic creatures.
