How3 Recordings producing dance music from House to Drum & Bass. Personally I use FL Studio and have been for over 10 years, which comes with life time updates for free. In the 90s we used to DJ using technics SL1210 turntables, but in the modern era its all digital, with electronic beat matching. You certainly wont have been able to DJ without using headphones in the analogue days, lol. I've used a number of DJ software solutions but recently I've started using Virtual DJ, which is free, yes free to use if your not plugging into a mixer or controller. Any one interested give it a go.
