Here's 1.5TB (1536GB) of DDR4 memory. This server build is going heavy on the memory to accommodate a MongoDB database server.
2x E5-2650L v4 Intel Xeon processors @ 1.7GHz
24x 64GB (1.5TB) DDR4 ECC memory
4x Samsung 883 DCT 1.92TB SSDs

My next Vintage Story playthrough will be played on a dedicated server, and this server I acquired will be hosting it.
Intel Xeon E5-1660 v4 - 8 cores @ 3.2ghz
256GB DDR4 ECC Memory
4x 4TB Seagate Exos HDDs
I originally bought this server to run Proxmox and consolidate a bunch of smaller servers together to save power. I then realized I had more than enough resources to run a virtual machine for a single-player Vintage Story server. Initial testing showed a significant increase in performance from fires and collapsing dirt.

Here's a simplistic map of my Vintage Story 1.18 world, based solely on my own memory. Scale and proportions are inaccurate, but the major paths and locations are there. Any errors or omissions of notable locations is because it's no longer in my head.

The "vast underground structure" better be as vast as it sounds. Looking forward to exploring this! #vintagestory

Finishing up work on the morning of Christmas Eve. I swapped out E5-2680 v3 processors in two servers with E5-2683 v4 processors. Going from 12-cores to 16-cores per processor in the same TDP means work gets done faster. With that out of the way, it's time to celebrate the holidays.
Merry Christmas!

The highlight of my Sunday: attending game 3 of the Battle of Alberta at Rogers Place and seeing Evander Kane's hat trick #LetsGoOilers #NHL

GGBeyond is dedicated to "thinking beyond the game". I was involved in the Quake community in the 90s, learned how to make maps with Worldcraft and joined in a Quake Team Fortress clan. I modded StarCraft and WarCraft III, went to LAN parties since the 90s, competed in tournaments, and I'm currently involved in esports.
In every game I was heavily involved in, there was always a strong community to share the fun and enjoyment with others, contributing to a positive gaming environment. That's what drives me.
I'm against using Patreon and taking "donations" in general. My projects support themselves.
