I am a certified reading specialist, teacher, and school administrator with a Masters of Education degree in Reading and Language Arts. I have over twenty years of experience in public education working with students and teachers from kindergarten through grade twelve. I am especially passionate about fostering a love of reading in the hearts of my students. I believe we can best achieve this goal of fostering a love of reading by explicitly teaching students the skills necessary to both decode the text and understand the language represented by the text (see the Simple View of Reading).
