Injury – The Pain That Grounds Us

The Eagle’s Flight Stoppers Series (2)

Eagles are known for their incredible strength and ability to fly at great heights. Their wings are built to carry them across vast distances, allowing them to glide effortlessly through the air. But when they experience an injury, whether it’s to a wing or any other part of their body, it stops them from soaring freely. Similarly, in life, we experience physical, emotional, or mental pain that can ground us. These struggles can make us feel like we’ll never rise again.

Healing is possible. Just as an eagle seeks shelter to rest and recover, we must allow ourselves the space to heal. It’s a journey that requires patience, self-care, and trust. As we go through the healing process, we grow stronger, wiser, and more resilient.

God has put a system in place for your healing. Sometimes, it can present itself as family, friends, or professional support. Step by step, we regain strength. And when the time is right, we rise again, ready to soar.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." – Psalm 147:3

Eagle, Heal and Fly.

THE EAGLE'S FLIGHT STOPPERS SERIES (1)

Poisoning – Hidden Dangers

Eagles, despite their impressive strength and grace, are not immune to the dangers lurking in their environment. One of the most insidious threats they face is poisoning—often from contaminated prey or polluted surroundings. When an eagle ingests poison, its body becomes weak, its wings falter, and its ability to soar is diminished. What once was a creature of effortless flight now struggles just to stay afloat. The poisoning, though invisible at first, can cripple the eagle's power to rise.

In much the same way, we can be poisoned by the hidden dangers in our lives. These poisons aren't always physical—they come in the form of toxic relationships, harmful habits, and negative self-talk. Just as an eagle doesn't always see the dangers lurking in its prey, we might not recognize the subtle, draining effects of negativity around us. People who constantly bring us down, situations that drain our energy, or even thoughts that feed self-doubt and fear can all poison our spirits, weakening us and limiting our potential.

When we allow toxicity to linger in our lives, it becomes like a slow-acting poison. Over time, we find ourselves feeling exhausted, uninspired, and far from the vibrant individuals we once were.

The lesson here is simple: we must be vigilant about what we allow into our lives. We must make conscious choices about the relationships we nurture, the habits we form, and the thoughts we entertain. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, activities that nourish your soul, and beliefs that encourage your growth. Detoxify your mind and environment—let go of negativity, and create space for positivity and healing.

By doing so, you regain your strength. Your wings begin to feel lighter, and the weight of poison that once held you down no longer has control. As you clear away the toxins, you make room for growth, joy, and the ability to rise higher than before.

“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’” – 1 Corinthians 15:33

SELF-TOLERANCE

Today, I learned about tolerance, and as I meditated on it, I slipped into the consciousness of self-tolerance. I thought of it as a healthy practice. After all, it allows us to acknowledge our imperfections and embrace the transformation journey. Then… Gengen, gengen! A thought struck me: What about the danger of taking self-tolerance too far? Ah! When we become overly lenient with ourselves, we can easily fall into complacency, justifying actions or attitudes God calls us to leave behind. This leads to self-indulgence.

It’s crucial to distinguish between self-tolerance and self-indulgence. Self-tolerance doesn’t mean we make excuses for poor behaviour or give in to destructive patterns. Instead, it means recognising our struggles, showing ourselves compassion, and committing to growth from a place of love rather than shame. This is not about being soft on ourselves but creating space for healing and change.

When we are overly critical of ourselves, we create an environment of fear and insecurity. But when we treat ourselves with patience and understanding, we foster resilience and openness to God’s transformative work. However, when we tolerate our flaws to the point of excusing harmful behaviours, we miss the opportunity to grow in holiness. It’s vital to distinguish between self-tolerance that fosters healing and self-tolerance that enables stagnation. God calls us to a higher standard that requires grace and responsibility.

Self-tolerance becomes dangerous when we begin to excuse patterns of sin or poor decision-making under the guise of “nobody’s perfect.” Yes, we all fall short of perfection, but we are also called to “press on toward the goal” (Philippians 3:14). There’s a difference between extending grace to ourselves and using grace as a shield against conviction. It’s not enough to accept our flaws; we must strive to overcome them through God’s power.

Shalom!

Ever noticed how tough a coconut shell is? It’s like nature's built-in fortress, protecting the juicy, life-giving stuff inside. No matter what the world throws at it—sun, rain, even the ocean—that shell stays strong.

Life can feel pretty unpredictable, right? Sometimes things are smooth sailing, and then BAM! A storm hits out of nowhere. When that happens, we all crave a bit of protection.

I remember a time when I felt totally exposed. Chai! My Dad had passed, things were a mess, everything was stressing me out, and the future seemed really uncertain. It was like I was standing in the middle of a hurricane with no umbrella.

But then I came across this verse in Psalm 91: "He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." Imagine God being like a mama bird, shielding her chicks from the storm. That gave me so much comfort. It was like God was saying, 'Hey, you're not alone. I've got you covered.'

Being covered by God isn't just about physical safety, though that's cool, too. It's about knowing that even when life gets wild, there's a place where we can find peace and security. It's about trusting that God is watching over us, protecting us from stuff we might not even see coming.

That understanding helped me get through one of the most challenging times in my life. It reminded me that just like a coconut's shell, God's protection is always there, solid and reliable, keeping us safe through life's storms.

You are covered by God!

LOOK UP!

💕💕💕

© THE PEACE GEORGE (TPG)

After speaking at MFIMS with a group of incredibly inspiring young leaders, I sat down to find a charger I'd misplaced earlier. Lost in the search, I must have been staring at the floor for longer than I realized. My breath began to shorten, a strange sensation creeping in as if I couldn't quite catch my fill of air.

It was then I realized the odd position I was in: chin tucked to my chest. I'd instinctively curled into myself, perhaps seeking comfort in this familiar posture. But the physical discomfort was a stark reminder of something deeper.

When you look down, chin-to-chest, your world shrinks. Physically, your lungs compress, your breath shallows, and your body sends out distress signals. It’s a posture of vulnerability, of retreat, of feeling small and overwhelmed.

Spiritually, this inward gaze mirrors a state of discouragement and fear. We focus on our problems, our limitations, and the world’s weight, much like the physical strain of holding your head in that position. It's as if we're trying to hide from life's challenges, rather than facing them head-on.

But the beauty of the human spirit lies in its capacity for resilience and hope. Just as lifting your head opens your airways, allowing your lungs to expand and your breath to deepen, looking up to Jesus opens your heart to His love, grace, and strength. It’s like taking a deep breath of fresh air for your soul.

Hebrews 12:2 encourages us to *“keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”* When we do, His perspective becomes ours. The burdens that once seemed insurmountable lighten, and the path ahead appears clear. It’s in these moments of looking up that we find strength, courage, and the unwavering belief that we are not alone.

So, the next time you find yourself hunched over, chin to chest, remember this: it's a posture of limitation. But there's power in lifting your head. Look up, take a deep breath, and remember, your help comes from the Lord.

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Psalm 34:4

FROM BROKENNESS TO BLESSEDNESS

💞💞

©The Peace George (TPG)

A young boy, crippled by a fall during David's reign, his future seemed bleak. Yet, in the midst of his affliction, God orchestrated a remarkable story of redemption.

Through the compassion and generosity of King David, Mephibosheth was brought into the royal household, provided for, and treated with dignity.

His story is a powerful reminder that even in our darkest moments, God's grace abounds.

Like Mephibosheth, we may feel abandoned, hurt, and incapable, but God's restorative power is always available.

He can turn our weaknesses into strengths, and our sorrows into joy.

Surrender it all to King Jesus and watch Him work wonders.

He empowers the powerless, comforts the troubled, and offers salvation.

He strengthens, sustains, protects, and guides.

A healer of the sick, a liberator of captives, a defender of the weak.

He blesses the young and the old, cares for the unfortunate, and mends the brokenhearted.

2 Samuel 9:7- "And David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will show kindness to you for the sake of your father Jonathan, and I will restore to you all the land of Saul your father, and you shall eat bread at my table continually.”

God is set to show you kindness and restore all that you have lost.
