**Happy New Year, everyone! ๐**
I really missed you all and can't wait to get back to posting this week. As you know, the last four years I have been in my doctoral program. 2024 was a difficult year for me. I was so focused on YouTube that my school told me if I didn't finish this school year, I would be kicked out of my program. So guess what? I'm done! ๐
I apologize for being so inconsistent last year. I was under a lot of pressure, but GOD! It's over! I graduate on May 8, 2025, as Dr. Gordone, PhD, and I can't wait to continue helping the children of our community with my research. While getting back to spreading awareness and showing myself up here, Leah Talks are back!!!!! I miss being my vocal self and will be back on camera.
I have unlisted about 100 of my commentary videos. If you know, you know! So please tag me, share down below, or email me at leahtalks@myyahoo.com any topics or things you would like me to discuss! True crime content is not the only content I used to create! I had a wide variety and range of content, and I want to get back to it! Let me know what else you'd like to see, old or new! If it's vlogs, please remember, I do have a vlog channel: youtube.com/leahgordonevlogs.
If you have a true crime story (solved or unsolved) that you would like us to cover, you can send those to rayven@itsblackgirlnews.com. Please make sure to include your name and contact information. If you are not the immediate family of the victim, please do not send the stories without their permission.
Thank you for your support and patience. Let's make 2025 amazing together! ๐
Love,
Leah

I've received numerous questions and emails about the charges her boyfriend faced. Coryonna's mother revealed that her daughter's boyfriend, who was responsible for her tragic death, only received one year of probation. This revelation has left many questioning the justice system and seeking answers for such a lenient sentence. (---At the 28:00 mark, she goes more into detail.)
#CoryonnaYoung, a 15-year-old sophomore at Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, tragically lost her life on October 21, 2022. She was accidentally shot by her 17-year-old boyfriend while they were at his home in the 2000 block of Maitland Drive. The incident was reported to be accidental, and the boyfriend immediately called 911 for help. Despite the quick response, Coryonna was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hey loves! As you know, I am a graduate student in the School of Education. I am conducting research as part of my doctorate studies.
The purpose of my research is to understand how different social experiences affect children in the classroom. This study will look at how these experiences impact boys and girls differently, especially in terms of their schoolwork and behavior.
--------
P.S. This is my final semester! I will be defending my dissertation very soon!
This research aims to show that providing resources like Social Emotional Learning (SEL) can benefit the household and, more importantly, the child. The outcomes include improving studentsโ psychological and social abilities, enhancing their development, alleviating social discomfort or confusion about acceptable behavior, and providing a safe space for educators, parents, and children.
