Cruit Ăireann, Harp Ireland was established in 2016 by harpers in collaboration with An Chomhairle EalaĂon, The Arts Council of Ireland, to support the continuing development of the harp in Ireland. It is the national umbrella resource organisation for the harp, its organisations, harp players and harp makers in Ireland. Irish harping received UNESCO recognition when it was inscribed on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Dec 2019. Every year we celebrate LĂĄ na Cruite, Harp Day, in October.  It is an all-Ireland event to promote Irelandâs national instrument through concerts, lectures, popup events, and harp makersâ workshops both live and online. As well as our extensive programme of events taking place in Ireland and Northern Ireland, we have events happening in Australia, Japan, America, Scotland, England, Italy and France every year. Our popular Harpers' Call programmes feature videos sent to us from harpers all over the world.
