Pentanglers, we have some exciting news ….
On Friday 30th September Cherry Red Records are releasing ‘Pentangle - Through The Ages: 1984 - 1995’. This is the first of a two boxset series. The set opens with the ‘Open The Door’ album, Danny Thompson’s final Pentangle studio recordings and then continues across 5 albums over the next decade with Jacqui McShee and Bert Jansch joined by some of the UK’s finest instrumentalists.
The 6 CD boxset includes our albums released between 1984 and 1995, ‘Open The Door’, ‘In The Round’, ‘So Early In The Spring’, ‘Think Of Tomorrow’, ‘One More Road’ and ‘Live 1994’. It also features 27 exclusive, unreleased recordings, including a live version of our hit single ‘Light Flight’ plus never-before-seen photos and stories from band members themselves.
Special thanks to Jacqui who has contributed extensive notes to the package, alongside Pentangle authority Colin Harper.
The boxset is available for pre-order here:

For six relentlessly active years spanning 1967-73 British folk/jazz 'supergroup' Pentangle were one of the most exciting and innovative groups in the world, genuinely pushing boundaries and exploring new musical avenues... The band was formed in 1967 by hip young guitar slingers Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, already leading lights of the folk scene at the time thanks to their startlingly innovative songs and guitar playing. John added extraordinary vocalist Jacqui McShee, an established singer on the traditional circuit, along with hugely experienced and talented jazz rhythm section Danny Thompson (acoustic bass) and Terry Cox (drums).
