Right, so my last post was all about saying Rodri deserves the Ballon d'Or, so I kinda have to keep it going, even if it's been a couple of days. But honestly, it's not just that that made me wanna post this.
Iām genuinely gutted with how narrow-minded people can beālike, theyāre so unable to see any middle ground. All they care about is ranting their emotions, kowtowing, and separating everything into good vs dumb. It's crazy that so many professional footballers, who should be role models for young players, act this carelessly. Yeah, maybe you think Rodri doesnāt deserve the award, but who gives you the right to disrespect him publicly? You, the same people whoād probably change their tune as soon as it benefits them. Richarlison, imagine you was in that spotāhow would you feel if you had to listen to a bunch of randoms booing you, people who got some success but donāt actually know what theyāre on about?
Iām begging people to be more rational, to stick to their principles and not overstep boundaries just because theyāve got narrow views. Expand your horizons, especially in areas you work ināthink with your head, not with knee-jerk reactions, and keep growing.
But sadly, pop culture and politics donāt really teach that. YouTube could shut down my AdSense just because Iām from a different country, the different country could ban YouTube just because it removed a propaganda channel, and YouTube could take down that propaganda channel because some official asked them to. funny though? Politics and media are full of people who lack logic, and by blindly following them, youāre doing yourself a disservice instead of building your own values and inner world. The Ballon d'Or was just the excuse here, but Iāll be happy if even one person reads this and rethinks things.
PS: the last thing I want to get into is politicsāthatās not where Iām trying to go with this, and thatās an area thatās almost impossible to change. I just want people to step out of this narrow mindset thatās been forced on us by the media and officials. Take a second to really think about what you're bringing into the world, because at the end of the day, our lives are in the hands of the people. Slogans and emotions shouldnāt be what weāre choosing to follow.
