With the release our cover of SOS by @OfficialABBA , Gothik Serpent concludes a satisfying 2024 having cultivated a sonic identity through explorations of my favorite bands and songs. The goal of these covers has always been and will continue to be about one, paying tribute to the sounds that shaped my musical upbringing, and two, educating myself on new production techniques to be applied towards original music that is currently in the works.
With that said, the goal for 2025 is to finally push through the first Gothik Serpent album in seven years while continuing to grow the channel with covers. The upcoming album, titled Antagonist, is inspired by much of what happened in my country Singapore and the rest of the world between 2020 and 2022. It will feature complex arrangements, odd time signatures and extremely dense production; essentially a culmination of both my love for guys like @PorcupineTreeOfficial and @rush as well as everything I've learned from the last four years of covers.
Last but not least, a very big thank you to everyone who has subscribed, liked, commented, and watched. I make an effort to acknowledge everyone who comments, and it's fascinating to see people commenting from the US, Argentina, Russia, Italy, Mexico, France, Japan and elsewhere. The encouragement and reactions I get from all of you are huge motivating factors. If you have suggestions on what songs or bands you'd like to see us tackle, let me know in the comments.

I'm delighted to report that my first original album, Interloper (2014), is now available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. This features a 100% total remix by me that is completely in line with how I envisioned it back then (the original was mixed by Acle Kahney of Tesseract, back when I had no inkling of music production), and is the definitive version of the album that started everything.
