Sorry no video today. I've really worked hard to establish a routine posting time (Wednesdays and Saturdays) so that it marries into my routine. Today duty calls, and I was not done editing my next video. I will see how well I will compensate for this. Thanks

This made me realize how important this medical education platform has become.
A quick back story on how I started the HealthWise platform
I was deployed in Mombasa Coast General Hospital (now Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital) last year (2022) around January. Coming from Nairobi to Mombasa was a challenge because Mombasa is hot and humid. After my shift I would take a TukTuk (my preference because of the breeze) all the way to Utange past Bamburi Mwisho.
Spending daytime exploring Mombasa was a no for me because of the weather, so I would sit in the house waiting the favorable twilight hours, when the temperatures would not be as harsh. This created a certain boredom because I had nothing to do. This is how I came up with the idea of creating videos, I started making videos about Microsoft suits on a platform I named TechyTonics www.tiktok.com/@techytonics?is_from_webapp=1&sende…
This kept me occupied on the evenings to a point I would just stay indoors. It grew and spread even here on Facebook.
My time in Mombasa came to an end and I had to go back to Nairobi, in Nairobi I’m a little bit busier so making videos was becoming harder, especially the editing part since screen recorded videos usually take time when editing. During this time, I acquired a camera I had been eyeing for. Found it easier to record the videos and edit them. Guess the platform idea……… Health education. The Healthwise
The growth made this platform evolve from being just a hobby to something people use to educate themselves on health matters. This is still the lifelong goal of the platform. I have several plans for this platform
• Bringing specialist for all your questions
• Once we get to 10k on YouTube I have been having this thought of riding from Nairobi to Nakuru on a bicycle to raise fund that will be donated to a girl’s school for sanitary health
• I have surprise interviews that would better be left a secret

It's encouraging to see the progress we've made. I started this channel as a time passing hobby but later realized the impact the channel is making in the society. Goes without saying this has slowly graduated from a hobby to something people find resourceful. This comes with a challenge, making sure we have something worth watching and that will add value. Started off with 1 member, right now it will take only 1 member to get to 1k. I research my topic, shoot the video, edit, make thumbnail, upload look for relevant title, tags, so that those looking for the information will get the right one. The whole process is so satisfying, and it will only get better, because I count each and every member and try my best to anticipate what information they might need to make their lives better. I enjoy making videos, educative ones, I'm slowly overcoming being camera shy 😃 I would soon start cracking medical jokes, I hope you will get them 😂😂
