It's been a while since I last uploaded a video, for a number of reasons. I do have a video from the Nantlle Ridge in Snowdonia going live this Sunday. It was typical changeable mountain weather in September, but that just added to the drama.

I have been working on a project over the last five years based on the slate quarries of Snowdonia, which I hope to put a video together in the next few weeks. Also looking forward to some Autumn photography. The foliage is slow to turn colour in the South East of England - over recent years the colours tend to peak mid to late November.

In the meantime here's a few photos from a red sunset in September from Snowdonia (the last photo one of my favourite of Tryfan)...

Hi all, hope you had a great break over Christmas and New Year. I've taken a break myself, but hope to get back out soon.
If you have any questions you'd like to ask (Q&A), post them in the comments section and I can include them in a future video.

This is a pair of long exposure photos taken from Lochinver, Scotland - September 2022:

I had planned to get out for some autumn photography this week, but Covid finally caught up with me yesterday and has completely wiped me out (despite having four Covid jabs). Hope to recover in time before the leaves have fallen or blown off the trees.

I have two more videos in the works from September in the Gwydyr Forest in Eryri, Wales, now that I've finally processed all the photos. Here's a few of a Misty morning near the Glyderau...

Thank you to all my subscribers for following me along my journey. I'm taking a little breather before the next video - working full-time with a family and one shared family car I'm mostly limited to the weekends (especially during the winter when daylight hours are short) and also dependent on the weather and my time and energy when I do have free use of the car. I always look forward to the spring and summer when I can take advantage of the longer daylight hours - the few hours before sunset can be magical in the forest.

Winters here in the south east of England are wet, mild, windy and dreary, which I find uninspiring for landscape photography. It's my time to hibernate and re-energise in the Spring when the warmth of the Sun and longer days lure me back out into the landscape.
I have unfinished business in Snowdonia so will be returning there later in the year - mountains, quarries, forest, llyns and coastline.

Autumn Colours usually arrive late to Suffolk, England, which can often be frustrating waiting for the colours to pop. In the past few years, they have peaked towards the end of November. I created this image at the weekend, intentially focused on the background pine tree to leave the foreground out of focus - it gives the impression that the amber leaves from the nearby silver birch are falling like snow.
