LAYNE STALEY, ORIGINAL FRONTMAN OF SEATTLE’S OWN ALICE IN CHAINS, TO BE REMEMBERED AND CELEBRATED IN ANNUAL TRIBUTE SHOW AT THE ICONIC NEPTUNE THEATRE IN SEATTLE
Local Alice in Chains tribute band JAR OF FLIES (the ultimate AIC experience) takes the stage to raise money for The Layne Staley Fund and offer grunge fans the ultimate Alice in Chains experience for one night only.
Special opening set from TEN MILES WIDE, a Seattle-based rock band that brings a unique twist, a stamp all their own and continues the tradition of Seattle music into the future.
SEATTLE, WASH - The Emerald City is bringing grunge back home for one night only to pay homage to Seattle’s Layne Staley, the Alice in Chains original frontman whose voice and music still reign. On Saturday, August 21st, local Seattle tribute band JAR OF FLIES will take the stage at the Neptune Theatre with a special appearance by Nancy McCallum (Staley’s mother) alongside other local musicians to celebrate the life, music and legacy of Layne Staley. All Proceeds from the tribute will be donated to the Layne Staley Memorial Fund benefitting Therapeutic Health Services (THS).
The annual Layne Staley Tribute, presented this year by STG Presents and KISW 99.9FM is different – after a year of COVID-19 restrictions, fans and grunge-lovers can come out to the Neptune Theatre and re-live the grunge years with a live performance by Seattle’s Jar of Flies – The Ultimate AIC Experience - who will be covering the music of Alice in Chains all night long.
The annual Layne Staley Tribute is a Seattle tradition for fans from all over the world to gather and celebrate the music, life and continued legacy of Layne Staley and all of the musicians who left this world too young.
The tribute will feature special guest appearances by Layne’s mother, Nancy McCallum who founded The Layne Staley Fund and works to raise awareness of drug addiction and recovery programs. A silent auction and raffle including memorabilia from Nancy’s collection of artifacts, will be held to help raise additional money for the Layne Staley Memorial Fund.
Opiate addiction is an ongoing and current major health concern in Seattle and the Layne Staley Tribute is committed to raising awareness of the opiate epidemic and resources available for those in our communities in search of help.
Tickets to the Layne Staley Tribute Show are $22.50, and can be purchased through Ticketmaster at STGPresents.org.
Doors at 8 p.m., followed by the show at 9 p.m. This event is open to all ages.
