Recently, BYD has unveiled the official images of its innovative creation, the BYD SHARK electric pickup truck, signaling that this pickup, focusing on the new energy field, is set to shine on the global stage. Its debut is scheduled for May 14th in the exotic setting of Mexico.
The design of the BYD SHARK exhibits extraordinary courage. Its unique front face boldly integrates a wide mesh grille, cleverly accentuated with metallic lower skid plates, showcasing its exceptional off-road DNA. LED headlights are vertically arranged, surrounded by sleek C-shaped daytime running lights, connected by a strip of light across the top, creating a striking through-line effect, giving the vehicle a futuristic and distinctive identity. The lower body is adorned with silver protective plates and durable black plastic materials, enhancing both protection and maneuverability on challenging terrains. At the rear, equally eye-catching through-type tail lights add the finishing touch to the overall aesthetic.
The design philosophy of this pickup leans towards a balance of trendiness and practicality, offering two color options: pure white and serene blue, aimed at attracting environmentally conscious young consumers who also seek individuality. The addition of a roof rack, sturdy roll bars, and a full vehicle black sport package not only enhances practicality but also gives this pickup a touch of wildness.
In terms of power, the BYD SHARK pickup is expected to feature two powertrain options: a plug-in hybrid system and a pure electric drive system. Both are based on BYD's DMO super hybrid platform specially designed for off-road scenarios. The core of this platform lies in its electric drive priority strategy, while flexibly adapting to 1.5T and 2.0T engines to meet different users' performance needs.
Of particular note, the new vehicle will have a 6 kW mobile power station function, a 20 kW parking fast charging capability, and V2V emergency charging rescue technology. These features not only highlight the platform's comprehensiveness and convenience but also provide endless possibilities for outdoor adventures. Additionally, the BYD SHARK is expected to be equipped with advanced hydraulic active suspension systems and streaming media rearview mirrors. These high-tech features will further enhance the driving experience, seamlessly combining comfort with intelligent technology.

Check out BYD's latest sales update unveiled on May 1st! In April, BYD's new energy vehicle sales surged to an impressive 313,200 units, marking a remarkable 48.96% year-on-year growth. Not to mention, overseas sales hit a record high of 41,011 units. What's even more noteworthy? BYD has now achieved monthly sales exceeding 300,000 units for two consecutive months. And for the period of January to April this year, BYD's cumulative new energy vehicle sales totaled a whopping 939,500 units, showcasing a solid 23.24% year-on-year increase.
