OVBI's Eliminating Water Poverty
During the past four years, OVBI has worked with nearly 500 drought-stricken villages on water infrastructure projects and education. In 2019, we partnered with government bodies, ex-ISRO scientists, NGOs and local communities. OVBI projects have helped desilt water bodies, build micro-dams and recharge wells in 140 villages that have created a capacity of 1.5 billion gallons of water in the states of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Rajasthan. This year, we’ll expand our footprint to include Jharkhand as well.
Building on this foundation and on-the-ground experience, our vision is to transform rural India from a state of water poverty to water plenty by 2030.
