Eighty years ago, on 9 April 1940, German troops invaded Denmark and Norway. The memory of German occupation are still fresh for some people. As a historian I feel responsible to find these people and document their untold stories from the five horrible years of occupation, so they will never be forgotten.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the death of one of the most important folk poets of Turkey. Ashiq Veysel was born in a small village in Sivas, a province known for its folk poets. He teaches us to love people, animals, and nature through his folk songs. He may be gone but never forgotten.
