YBW Smith real name Hempstone Smith Bill (born 2001) is a talented Kenyan artist, rapper, and songwriter based in Buruburu, Nairobi. YBW Smith rose to fame in 2023 after going viral on TikTok with the hit songs “Lele (feat. Lufasa)” and “Anapiga Pic.”
Growing up in Buru Buru inspired YBW Smith’s musical journey, which started in 2018 while still in high school. At that time, YBW Smith was just 16 years old, and Gengetone music had taken over the Kenyan entertainment industry. YBW Smith joined other Kenyan youths in the entertainment industry with a promising future to revolutionize the music industry.

Releasing songs back-to-back with no industry success did not deter him from writing songs and collaborating with other artists. YBW Smith continued chasing his musical goals with the hope that one day he would get recognition and his music would reach more people.
