When I get older, I might have a bit of a crisis. I've spent my entire life romanticizing youth and consuming media where the main characters are either teenagers or young adults. Whether I like it or not, this has affected my worldview; being young seems cool, exciting and adventurous, whereas being older seems like you're at the end of your story.

And by "older", I don't even mean old. I might start having this kind of crisis when I turn 30. I mean, when's the last time you saw an anime or a JRPG where the main character is 30? Sure, there are stories where the main characters aren't younger, but these stories tend to be darker and more nihilistic. So what's the message? That life becomes more depressing when you're older? Sheesh, not looking forward to that.

It's built into our world's culture that being young is romantic and that life beyond youth isn't worth thinking about. Mainly Japanese culture, but also western culture too.

And besides the cultural view on these things and the portrayal in media, there's also the fact that culturally, older people just don't do fun things. Younger people are always going out places, traveling, having parties, going to conventions, making new friends. Older people tend to do these things less because they're focused on BORING things like raising a family (I'm part joking, I respect parents), so when you're older it's harder to get involved in the same social situations young people do.

If you're 40 and you go to any kind of social event for younger adults, you'll probably get weird looks. But why shouldn't you get to do that at 40? Seems unfair. It's like the more exciting things are gatekept for younger people, and past a certain age you're expected to just stop having fun. For example, a young adult at a party is viewed as someone living their youth, but a 40 year old at a party is viewed as someone who failed to mature and can't grow up (parties are just one example, you might not like those).

If you're a younger person, are you afraid of getting older?

And if you consider yourself "not young", are you at peace with it?

I get that "young" is subjective, so go by your own definition.

People always say things like "I was born in the wrong generation". But I must be one of the few people who genuinely feels like they were born in the right generation.

There's so much cool stuff we have now that we didn't have in the past. Technology. Video games. Virtual reality. Anime and otaku culture. Oh, and I guess human rights are nice too. Like how we aren't literally put in jail for kissing people of the same gender or doing naughty things before marriage. It's only recently that we've started to do away with purity culture, you know.

There's so many situations where there's a super cool thing that I'm excited and passionate about and I'm like "damn, I was born in the right generation". Because I know that stuff didn't exist before, and might not be around / have a community around it anymore in future.

Born too late to discover new lands. Born too early to explore the universe. Born just in time to watch VTubers, read manga and lose countless hours in Persona 5. And you know what? I'd have it no other way. I love all the stupid nerdy shit we have. I'd hate to have been born in a time when this stuff didn't exist.

Do you feel the same? Do you feel like you were born in the right generation?

In terms of content creation, there's so many things I wanna do. So many goals I want to achieve. So many things I want to create. I feel desperate to do all of it, but all of it is going to take a lot of time, and that's been frustrating me recently. As the days go on I work at my goals little by little, but I just feel this urge to have it all done already. I'm going to have to be patient.

But one thing's for sure; I'll achieve those goals. Even if it takes a while. And the fact that I actually have goals now is a big improvement over my past self, and is the first step towards success.

What about you? Do you know what your goals are for your life? Or are you feeling aimless, not knowing what you want?

Would you become a vampire in real life if given the chance?

There's a lot of upsides, such as being immortal and having special powers, such as super strength and brainwashing.

But on the other hand, maybe you don't want to outlive your loved ones. And maybe you don't want to need to drink blood. And there could be other unforeseen downsides, like an increase in violent and murderous tendencies (this particular attribute will actually be explored in the next episode of The Vampire Apprentice).

Would you do it?

Hello.

I hope to return to making uploading audio roleplays soon.

It's been a long time, huh? Not sure how many people still remember me. Either way, I'm planning to make a comeback.

I currently have a video that's almost finished. It's gonna be the start of a series called "The Vampire Apprentice", in which you become an apprentice of a Vampire boy who teaches you the ways of vampire society and helps you survive in a dangerous new world. The romance in this series will be slower than in previous stuff I've done; I'm trying to veer away from stories where romance happens in just one episode, because that's not very natural. So there may be less instant gratification for those of you with lower attention spans, but some of you might like it more that way since it'll be better developed.

I want to be Exhibit A again. I'm gonna start over, and do things right this time. When I started YouTube, I sometimes wasn't truly doing it my way. I was also young, and had a bad grasp of what I wanted from life and wanted from YouTube, and had a hard time communicating with my audience. But I now know a lot of what I did incorrectly, so this time I can make it different. I'll make stuff that'll blow people's minds and become an amazing content creator. You can count on it.

Stay tuned, and get ready for the new age of Exhibit A.
