What free or cheap animation software is the best? In particular, which is most fun to draw and do traditional animation in?

I'm an animation generalist with more than 15 years in 2D television animation.
My goal with this channel is to demystify the learning process and show how practice can be fun. I approach drawing from the lens of someone who loves animation and cartoons.
