Aaaand we've crossed 50,000 subscribers today!
I know it's a very small number in this big, wide world of YouTube, but I have a small reason to celebrate.
I started this channel last year (after years of writing, directing, performing and building the East India Comedy channel) with one singular aim - to create fewer videos, but the kind of videos that I would personally love to watch as an audience. Videos that would (hopefully) age well, work that I should be able to look back at (even though Javed sahab suggested that one shouldn't) and feel proud that I made these.
A lot of people (including my own managers) suggested I make weekly vlogs, do long streams, upload Shorts every day because these days it's about quantity more than quality. Audience apparently forgets you if you're not in their face almost every day. Brands don't want to sponsor people if they don't act like machines churning 'content'.
But I am on a slow growth, mild hustle path this time. There are only 8 videos on this channel so far, but I am proud of each one of them. And I am just happy to see that a small, niche audience also happens to appreciate what I want to create :)
So thank you for joining in. I am not going to pander and say things like "I promise to entertain you forever" or "you are like my family". I will continue doing the work that I like, I just hope that some of you resonate with it, just about enough so that I get to keep doing this every day.
