Chubster Groove and Klyde X are a beat-making duo whose journey began with a shared love for music and a chance meeting at just the right time. Klyde’s persuasive push to get Chubster into a band led them to discover their passion for creating music digitally. Using free samples, they began crafting beats on their phones that quickly caught the attention of local artists.
At 18 and 19 years old, they’ve spent the past five years performing around Cape Town, both in bands and as solo artists. Their beats span a wide range of genres, including pop, rock, hip hop, trap, R&B, lo-fi, afropop, and alternative, reflecting their diverse experiences and influences.
The magic of Chubster and Klyde’s collaboration lies in their dynamic partnership: when one hits a creative block, the other steps in to spark new ideas, and together, they refine and elevate each other’s work.
