God gave us grounds to know him and to live not only for him also to live with him. However we live in a sin infected world and that caused humanity to miss the mark from how God wants us live, however he sent his only Son, Jesus Christ to lay down his life as the sinless lamb for sins and to set us free to be born again to be reconnected to the relationship that God saw before any of us were born. True freedom is found in Christ and in him alone.
