As some of you may have noticed, YouTube marked my most recent video as ā€œMade for Kidsā€. Iā€™m still baffled by how weird this algorithm is. Almost none of my other videos have been marked as such, and they arguably have the more ā€œchild friendlyā€ material. I mean how is a Pixar film, which is made with people of any age in mind, more qualified as kids content than Thomas the Tank Engine?

Anyway I sent an appeal, but it didnā€™t work, so itā€™s staying with that mark. Iā€™m not going to reupload it because itā€™ll probably just happen again. I apologize for the inability to comment on that video, but thatā€™s not in my control at the moment. I love to hear you guysā€™ thoughts and opinions, but you unfortunately wonā€™t be able to share them on this one. This didnā€™t happen with the original upload form several years back, so I donā€™t really know what to expect anymore.

I just went to see the Little Mermaid remake and itā€™s really not good. Not that I was expecting much, since these remakes tend to be rubbish, but this actually was worse than I expected. I thought the visuals were really cool to watch, but besides that the movie really sucked. The changes they made were really pointless and most of them were actually harmful to the story. Scuttle is extremely irritating now. Sebastian makes me want to gouge my eyes out with forks. It was just awful.

James Gets a New Coat has been blocked by Mattel too. Not really a surprise. I might try another one but Iā€™m probably going to take a break from these HiT era edits. But for those who enjoy them, donā€™t worry. Iā€™ll continue to do them in the future. I plan to eventually have all of seasons 8-11 edited down to the classic run time. Itā€™s quite fun to make them.

So for those of you who are enjoying my edits of the HiT era episodes, the next one was supposed to be Henry and the Wishing Tree, but YouTube wasnā€™t having it apparently.

Unlike the previous episodes, I didnā€™t make any changes to the color grading of this one, so that might be why itā€™s blocked.

Iā€™ll try again with another one, possibly with James gets a new Coat, but who knows at this point. I might try reuploading it, but Iā€™m still not sure if itā€™ll work.

Update:
So I reuploaded the video with some color correction, and itā€™s now only partially blocked. I doubt itā€™ll ever be totally unblocked so Iā€™ll roll with this. Itā€™s not public yet, and Iā€™ll try to get it out later today. Next one will be James Gets a New Coat. Hopefully YouTube will be nice about this one.

Greetings everyone! I wanted to quickly share my thoughts on Project Tiger Moth.

This is one of the best fan projects Iā€™ve ever seen from this fandom. It almost perfectly captures the feeling and atmosphere of series 5. Honestly, if you slapped this onto a complete series 5 DVD or something and showed it to someone who had never seen the show before, they probably wouldnā€™t tell the difference. Rob Magee (Wooden Railway Reviews) captures Alec Baldwinā€™s narration style splendidly. Now I only wish there was a Michael Angelis version. The story also feels like it was plucked straight out of series 5. I honestly want to consider it canon, it fits that well, and it makes perfect sense with the continuity.

The only complaint I have is the camerawork Yes, the sets are fantastic and definitely have the same soul and overall look of the show. But I found myself noticing the fact that these are gauge 1 props much more than I ever did in the show. There are many shots of the engines from higher angles and it results in them looking smaller. Particularly the tracking shots of the front of Toby. But thatā€™s only a minor thing.

Overall, this project was incredible. It was an outstanding tribute to old fashioned miniature filmmaking and to those golden years of the Thomas franchise. I give major props to everyone involved. They all did an excellent job with this. I rate Project Tiger Moth an 8/10.

Hereā€™s the first wooden railway item Iā€™ve received new in box in a long time. Iā€™d never thought Iā€™d see the day when Mattel actually did something GOOD with Thomas again! These new Wooden Railway models are really nice.

Rest in Pieces Thomas Wood.
You wonā€™t be missed.

I like to see someone come up with a name and backstory for this character from this video: https://youtu.be/73PLbg2Z1LQ

I donā€™t think heā€™s the engine from the season 8 episode ā€œHalloweenā€, but he could have been inspired by it.

Heā€™s also clearly a retextured Gordon, so heā€™s probably one of the withdrawn A1s (or heā€™s an A3. I canā€™t really tell).
