To my friends and family.
The Value of Each Other
As much as the world around us tries to lure us into self-dependency, God created us for each other. For community. For a life thatâs not alone.
The author of Proverbs said it like this:
âA friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.â
ââProverbs⏠â17:17⏠âNIV
Weâll all face hard timesâsometimes when we least expect it. But a friendâs genuine care can mean the world, a siblingâs unconditional love canât be replaced, and a neighborâs practical help is priceless.
We need each other more than we realize: emotionally, practically, and spiritually.
If youâve found yourself in a busy season where youâve unintentionally neglected your true friends or been too busy for your real family, now is the time to reprioritize.
If thereâs unresolved conflict with a friend or family member, and itâs slowly deteriorating the relationship, now is the time to set aside your pride and choose to make things right.
If youâre silently struggling on your own, now is the moment to let someone in. Give them a call, send them a text, or show up on their doorstep. If you canât be honest and vulnerable, it will be difficult to get help.
Not only do you need people, but those same people need you.
You have strengths, gifts, talents, and a personality thatâs unique to you and beneficial to themâand vice versa. Why bury them in the ground, in the name of autonomy, when they can benefit others?
Sometimes we need to ask for help and sometimes we need to be the help.
Do you need help, or can you offer it? Could you use a hand, or do you have some extra time, money, advice, or expertise to give?
If youâre tempted to self-isolate, donât forget: we were meant to live life together.

I got myself a birthday gift. Net cost $20. I sold one of my sharp edgy guitars and got a "normal" one. It's the first "normal shaped" guitar I have gotten in awhile. Priorities change but the roots remain. At 53 there is a lot I have learned. A lot I have forgotten as well. Embrace the new, let go of the old. The river cannot carry you if you cling to the rocks.

USE THEIR WORDS AS FUEL
Take inventory of everyone in your life that's betting against you...
...and start using their words as fuel.
These people will teach you perseverance.
These people will teach you self-reliance.
These people will teach you self-belief.
These people will teach you strength.
These people will teach you patience.
These people will teach you that the only thing that matters are the actions you take.
Let them talk.
Absorb it.
Feel it.
Use it.
You can either take their words as truth and give them power over your life and dreams...
Or...
You can take their words and shove them down their throats when you've done everything they said you couldn't do.
...and you won't even have to say a word.
Your results will speak for you.
