Debuted his first collection in Los Angeles, CA at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in 2009. His unique and distinctive aesthetic wooed the crowd. His second show was considered progressive and innovative. The show resulted in his award for Faculty Favorite, Only to be followed in a second consecutive win in his third and final graduating show. Through merging progressive ideology and classic female sophistication he has established himself as a supremely feminine, high class fashion designer.
Since his first debut he has been committed to creating collections that emotionally trigger the power of women. " I am a designer that loves women, essentially I want to by create clothing that makes women dream. "explains Masai.
His design style derives from women that are powerfully put together through the use of irony. His designs reflect Jacques Derrida's theory of deconstruction and binary opposition. What he envisions and wished to express through his designs is that identity is not fixed through one outlet, but composed of many layers.
Although only 22, the up and coming designer has been blessed to achieve all he has thus far. Masai's Designs have been débuted in LA Fashion Week as well as numerous print magazines and have been worn by celebrities such as Alyssa Milano, Kathy Griffin, Kristin Chenoweth. and most recently Heather Morris to the 2011 Emmy Awards
