“My second husband Jonathan and I were both cheated on by our former partners before we found each other.

Jonathan was married for 13 years and was never able to have kids due to diagnosed infertility. He showed me the paperwork from the testing and everything…he was not supposed to have kids. But within our first few weeks of marriage, we got pregnant!

Jonathan has wanted to be a dad since he was a teenager, and now he has a biological daughter. I can’t even describe to you the joy it brings me to watch them interact. He always wanted a baby girl named Robin, and her name is Robin Joy. She was not ‘supposed’ to happen — but God favored our relationship.

Robin’s life is without a doubt an act of the Lord. We actually thought we were losing her at first, because I ended up having a hemorrhage. So though we don’t know what the Lord has for her life, it’s clearly something that the enemy wanted to stop. We were so close to losing her. (But God!)

Our blended family has not been without its trials, but it’s been such a blessing for my two older kids to see what a healthy marriage can look like. Because my oldest remembers all the fighting that happened in my former marriage. But now she gets to see this healthy home, this healthy marriage — a marriage that fights fair, has stability, and has God as its foundation.”
