Havens is the moniker of Toronto indie/alt singer-songwriter-guitarist Andrew Beg. Inspired by ‘80s bands such as The Smiths, The Cure, INXS, and The Cult as well as 2000s indie like The Killers and Franz Ferdinand, Havens draws on a rich tapestry of influences to develop his signature brand of alternative rock.
Filled with multi-dimensional guitars, and Beg's compelling baritone voice, the debut album Fairy Tales released in March 2024 to positive reviews. "Beg shines as a songwriter ... [and] has a knack for writing soaring chorus hooks, oozing familiarity and earnestness," said Australia's Happy Mag. Radio legend Alan Cross highlighted the single "Fall" in his feature "5 Songs You Must Hear This Week".
Havens has opened for major acts such as Sam Roberts Band and Skydiggers and has played Toronto’s top venues including Horseshoe Tavern, Lee’s Palace, Rivoli, and El Mocambo; and appeared on media outlets including Global News, CHCH, SiriusXM CanadaTalks, 102.1 The Edge, and more.
