In case you have not figured out from my Shorts Feed, my dog Reika and I are chasing the Union Pacific Big Boy locomotive 4014 as it moved south from St. Louis on the 2024 Heartland of America tour. As usual, the long videos will feature this train in an upcoming release. I have attached a sample from one of my cameras to give you a preview.

This train is a lot harder to chase than the other ones I've done. The roads are a lot more complicated in the Ozarks to navigate quickly and there are thousands of people coming out to see it. Most didn't have to travel as far as we did.

Make sure you subscribe if you enjoy the content. Marching band season starts in a few weeks.

Take care.

The special passenger train for the US Open Golf Tournament called the Open Express trains 1171 (P933) and 1172 (P932) is now done. They only ran the ACWR dome car for the Monday round-trip as it was returned on Tuesday morning. It must have been for some special people on the first day. It was a great opportunity to see the RNCX passenger equipment running on the "S" line and on a small segment of the Aberdeen Carolina and Western tracks between Aberdeen and Pinehurst. Maybe they will bring the train back again in 2029. Hope you have a great week and thanks for subscribing.

I have not seen one of these switcher type locomotives in a long time. One came into Raleigh on the L620.

If you keep up with my shorts, you were following me on a road trip into Canada and back again. If not, the next long video will feature trains in Ohio, Michigan and Ontario from the first part of the road trip. Hope you enjoy them. Take care and thanks for subscribing.

Carolina Coastal GP15-1 engine CLNA 1502 (Ex MP 1621/UP 621) rolled by on today's NS 350 manifest train heading to its new owner. I was on the better side of the tracks for this one than for the CLNA 1501.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

It looks like I am finally caught up with my long videos so there will only be a Tuesday video this week

Not sure what the attraction is with the Hi Rail vehicles but the most popular short I created in the past month or two was this CSX truck rolling down the line in Folkston, GA.

Have a great week and thanks for subscribing.

I have completed the renaming of my long videos that feature trains. Since they are basically a record of the trains that I see with my video cameras, I titled the videos more like a video magazine called the "NC Train Journal" and numbered them in order for each year.

Visiting Florida again this week. Was able to catch a few trains in Folkston, GA on the way down. Not as easy for me to catch trains here since they are all spread out in a huge town, but most of the trains are different than back in Raleigh.

Have a great week, stay safe, and thanks for subscribing.

My long videos are slowly catching up with my shorts. This week's long videos feature Pine Pollen season in North Carolina where billowing clouds of yellow pollen blow around everywhere including around the trains. The Auto Train is also spotted in daylight on the A-Line.
