Merana is my new MD oc💕

𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞:
Merana stood at the edge of the small town, her suitcase clutched tightly in her hand. The sun dipped low, casting long shadows on the cobblestone street. She took a deep breath, the scent of fresh-baked bread wafting from a nearby bakery, mingling with the crisp autumn air. It felt foreign, yet somehow comforting.
“Hey! You lost?” A voice broke through her thoughts. A boy, probably around her age, leaned against a lamppost, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Merana shook her head. “No, just… new here.”
“Ah, fresh meat!” He grinned. “I’m Jake. You’re in luck; this place has the best coffee shop around. You should check it out.”
“Maybe,” she replied, forcing a smile. Inside, her heart ached. “I’m just trying to find a place to stay.”
“Come on, I can show you!” Jake pushed off the post and gestured for her to follow. “You can’t mope around here. This town has a lot to offer.”
As they walked, the vibrant colors of the storefronts caught her eye. Laughter echoed from a nearby park, children playing with abandon. She envied their joy.
“What’s with the suitcase?” Jake asked, glancing at her. “Running away from something?”
“Just… starting fresh,” Merana replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Starting fresh? Sounds exciting! You’ll love it here, I promise!” He laughed, but the sound felt distant to her. “You have to try the pumpkin spice latte. It’s like autumn in a cup!”
Merana nodded, but her heart felt heavy. “I lost my parents last week,” she said quietly, the words tasting bitter. “I don’t know if I can really start over.”
“Wow, I’m so sorry,” Jake said, his tone changing. “That’s rough. But don’t shut everything out. You deserve to feel happy again.”
“Maybe,” she murmured, glancing at the colorful leaves swirling in the breeze. “I just don’t know how.”
“You’ll figure it out,” he said, determination in his voice. “One day at a time.”
Merana smiled, a flicker of hope igniting. Perhaps this new town could hold more than just memories of her past.
