We hope you had a great holiday season. We break the silence to share a different type interview.
Instead of music news, coming shows and new releases, back in May, 2020, Bear Wiseman from Tuonela Magazine and Musicalypse did an interview with Felipe about his hobby of collecting vintage figures for her new program Gathering Of Geeks.
They talk about pop culture, vintage figures and how this has also influenced Felipe's way to write music.

NEW SINGLE 'WARRIOR' OUT NOW!
Composer Juho Patinen comments:
“The first spark for "Warrior" came probably around 2017 jamming with a nylon string acoustic guitar. I came up with this haunting melody with the bass note stationary creating a dissonance. I felt like this could become something and I immediately picked up my phone to record it.
The song starts with that simple idea and after a short build up by the raw band instruments, the full orchestra kicks in and takes the original melody to a whole new level. From an arranging point of view we made sure that all the instruments shine through when needed. With a couple of calm breathers in between, we can go full throttle with the orchestra at times and really make the room tremble. It is slow in tempo, beautiful and calm as much as it's haunting, yet heavy as an anvil.
The lyrics are part of a bigger concept, yet they work individually telling a story (to put it simple) about realization. Maybe someday with or without war, we find our identity. For this character it took years of battles in wars before realizing none of the battles were their's to win or lose, yet to fight. In the end, we are alone with everything we have around us."
So here it is, our last song before we head towards temporary slumber. No worries, we will be back. In the meantime play this song loud!

LINE-UP CHANGE & FUTURE OF THE BAND
Hello everyone, it has been a while since our last update. It is no surprise that the pandemic had an impact on everything, and musicians were no exception. During these 2 + years of not being able to tour and perform, we had to adapt to these changes which led to new priorities.
Music is our passion but unfortunately it is not our main source of income. Full time jobs, new family members and important life projects are taking most of our time, for some more than others, leaving us with no time to focus on music.
Our goal has been always to release the best music possible regardless of resource limitations, but unfortunately these last years it has been impossible to align everyone’s schedules to complete our next album.
One major change during this pandemic was the departure of guitarist Paul Thureau. It is sad for us to see Paul go but we understand his decision. We thank him for his contributions to the band and wish him the best in his future endeavours.
Paul comments:
“These last +2 years have been full of change in lifestyles and priorities for everyone, me included. Life has been busier than ever and unfortunately the time and energy I can invest in music is much lower than it used to! But I'll be still involved in Frosttide's work behind the scenes, and I'll keep on creating art and so for them, like I did before!
See you around!”
So, what is the future of the band? After much consideration we have decided to put Frosttide on hiatus. We will return to work and finish our next album once our schedules ease up and we can head back to the studio to record the final vocals and orchestrations.
For now, we will leave you with the next single ‘Warrior’ to be released on September 21st via Out Of Line Music. More details about the release will follow in the coming weeks.
We thank you for your understanding and apologize for the sad news. Still, this is not the end, only a transition. We hope you enjoy our new single when released. Play it loud!

Last year we lost one of the greatest metal guitarist & composer of our time. There is no denial that Children of Bodom's work has influenced and inspired us as musicians.
Felipe together with Juho, Joonas, Paul and Whispered 's Mikko Mattila recorded this tribute to Children Of Bodom in memory of Alexi Laiho.
Rest In Peace Alexi.
