Vainika Vidwan R K Srinivasa Murthy (1935 - ) is famous for his vocal style of playing. Srinivasa Murthy's ability to fructify the distinct swararoopams with gamakas and ulasitas (slides) in instrumental form with both dexterity and melody made his unique style, evocative of mellifluous singing.
R K Srinivasa Murthy is the eldest son of Asthana Vidwan (Palace Musician) Sri. R. S. Keshavamurthy (1903 - 1982), who was the disciple of Veena Subbanna (1854 - 1939) - one of the two torch-bearers of the famous "Mysore Bani" (Mysore style of playing).
