Timothée Chalamet returned to host Saturday Night Live for the third time, but this marked his first appearance as the musical guest.

âThis is a historic episode because itâs the first time an actor has also been a musical guest of Saturday Night Live, and if youâre wondering if thatâs true, itâs not,â he joked in his opening monologue. âThatâs a distinction I share with the great Gary Busey.â (This is true; Busey pulled double duty in a March 1979 episode.)
Fans hoping to see a revival of Timmy Tim were warned not to hold their breath. Chalamet announced he would be performing songs by Bob Dylan in homage to his role in the Academy Award-nominated Dylan biopic, which recently earned eight nominations.
Drawing parallels between his portrayal of Dylan and his role in *Wonka* (2023), Chalamet joked, âI actually discovered that the two men have a lot in common: Theyâre both eccentric, theyâre both innovators, and they both captured and enslaved hundreds of Oompa Loompas.â
Reflecting on his recent Oscar nods, which made him the youngest two-time Best Actor nominee since James Dean, Chalamet shared, âItâs an enormous honor going to these awards shows, itâs such a great experience, but I just keep losing. And each time it gets a bit harder to pretend it doesnât sting.â He noted this was something he had in common with his friend and former co-star Saoirse Ronan.
The show then played a montage of Chalametâs reactions at various awards ceremonies, showing him losing to Mahershala Ali and Gary Oldman multiple times. With each loss, his reactions became progressively more subdued and deadpan.
âMan, just another lonely night with my Dune popcorn pocket,â Chalamet joked, throwing in a risquĂ© quip.
When he attempted to use his monologue to deliver an awards speech heâd never had the chance to give, Kenan Thompson humorously interrupted. The camera then zoomed in on Chalametâs unamused expression, as he maintained a convincingly deadpan, award-worthy glare.
Chalamet concluded his monologue by expressing his gratitude to the show: âIâm so grateful Saturday Night Live is still doing weird stuff like this, 50 years in. Theyâre either really nice for letting me do this, or incredibly mean, and this is all a big prank. I sincerely canât tell. Weâll find out.â

Brock Anderson recently revealed that he turned down a potential AEW contract extension, due in part to the amount of guaranteed dates being too low.
Anderson debuted in AEW in June 2021 and wrestled sporadically for the company. His last AEW match was on the August 12th, 2023, episode of AEW Collision. He confirmed his departure from the company in October 2023.

During a recent appearance on K & S WrestleFest, the former AEW talent revealed that about two years into his contract, he knew he wasnât on the path that he wanted to be on in AEW. (H/t POST Wrestling for the transcription)
âAbout two years in probably,â said Anderson of his realization. âHindsightâs 20/20. It was like a brand new company. Theyâd only done a handful of TVs before COVID, and then they went into COVID. So, in one sense, it was the best place for me to be because itâs not like I could be out on the indies. They werenât running. So, at least I was there and when I was there, Cody (Rhodes) was there and we were in Jacksonville at the Dailyâs Place right next to the Jaguars stadium. During the day, like, TV days, they would have all the young guys out there and we would roll around and⊠some of the boys watching and theyâre like, âHey, that was good. This was bad.â
âSo in that respect, it was good, and like I said, it was a newish company and weâre in the middle of a global pandemic. We didnât know if we were gonna develop a training center or any of that because itâs early so youâre just like, alright, weâre just gonna keep doing this and see what happens and surely, God, maybe getting a training center or see how they do â bring us along, and then, once we got out of the pandemic, we were rocking and rolling, hitting towns every week and it was just TVs, and that school never came.â
Brock Anderson Wanted Repetitions
Anderson went on to note that AEW wanted to extend his deal, but it was not enough, as he wanted more guaranteed dates.
âSo, after just doing those five-minute Universal (Orlando) matches, you canât really get better doing that. Itâs too short of a time. You donât learn how to wrestle,â Anderson said. âSo, after about a year and a half â itâs great, I love everybody there, I appreciate the opportunity they gave me; Tony (Khan) and everybody. Itâs just, where I was, I needed to be somewhere where I could actually get repetitions and learn the business.
âSo, they sent me another â they wanted to redo the current deal I was on. It was not enough so I was like, âMaybe we just donât do this and maybe we just go our separate ways,â and I think it was the best decision I made, because if I just stay there and worked the five, six times a year that I was guaranteed, I would never have the mentor I got sitting to my left (C.W. Anderson), and all the knowledge Iâve soaked up in that short amount of time.â

Defending champion Jannik Sinner will look to seal back-to-back Australian Open titles and deny second seed Alexander Zverev a maiden Grand Slam crown in the menâs final on Sunday.
Don't forget to subscribe to our channel and hit the bell icon to stay updated with all our latest content!
Also on Sunday, the womenâs doubles final sees top seeds Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend face Taiwanâs Hsieh Su-Wei and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko.
After a thrilling womenâs final on Saturday, in which Madison Keys ended Aryna Sabalenkaâs two-year reign as Australian Open champion, Al Jazeera focuses on what promises to be another blockbuster finale between the two top seeds.
Who is the favourite to win the Australian Open menâs final?
A year after overhauling Daniil Medvedev in five sets in the 2024 final, Jannik Sinner will be favourite to win Sundayâs decider and become the first man to retain the title since Novak Djokovicâs âthree-peatâ from 2019-21.
Top seed Sinner would become the 11th man to go back-to-back in the professional era, joining the likes of Roger Federer (2006-07, 2017-18) and Andre Agassi (2000-01).
Having won the US Open last year, Sinner could also become the first Italian to win three Grand Slam titles, moving past his tie with Nicola Pietrangeli, a back-to-back winner of the menâs singles at Roland Garros (1959-60).
How did Sinner reach the final?
Sinner arrives in the final in top form, having won his last 20 matches.
He thrashed Australian number one Alex De Minaur in the quarterfinals and also beat rising American talent Ben Shelton in straight sets in the semis.
Physically, though, it has not all been smooth sailing for the 23-year-old, who suffered a cramp against Shelton and had dizzy spells on a hot day during his four-set win over Holger Rune in the fourth round.
With a maximum 27 degrees Celsius (81 F) forecast on Sunday, Sinner may be relieved that the match is scheduled in the evening cool.
What has happened to Sinnerâs doping case?
His run to the final has come while a longstanding doping case stemming from failed drug tests last March hangs over his head.
Though cleared to play by tennisâs integrity authority, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is seeking a ban of up to two years for the Italian at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The hearing is set for April.

Pauline Chalamet, sister of Dune star TimothĂ©e Chalamet, has drawn attention for past social media posts appearing to criticize billionaires, sparking speculation about her relationship with Kylie Jenner, her brotherâs girlfriend.
Don't forget to subscribe to our channel and hit the bell icon to stay updated with all our latest content!
The Sex Lives of College Girls actress reposted a tweet last year from the nonprofit Move On, suggesting CEOs who own private jets should face similar financial accountability as college graduates paying off student loans. Kylie Jenner, 27, a billionaire and owner of the private jet "Kylie Air," became a focal point for fans interpreting the now-deleted post as a jab.
Pauline also reshared a scathing tweet from Senator Bernie Sanders critiquing billionaires' influence on politics, adding her caption condemning tax loopholes that allow wealth accumulation. âBillionaires do not need to exist,â she wrote, further fueling speculation about indirect comments toward Jenner, confirmed as a billionaire by Forbes in 2019
Despite the controversy, Pauline and Kylie appeared cordial when seen sharing a warm hug at the Coperni afterparty in Paris last October.
Timothée and Kylie have been romantically linked since early 2023, frequently making headlines for their appearances at events like the US Open and the Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve party.
Though Pauline's posts have sparked fan discussions, the Chalamet-Jenner connection remains seemingly intact, with recent sightings of Timothée and Kylie enjoying time together in Paris earlier this month.

Offense was not to be seen Saturday night on The Plains.
In an anticipated matchup in Auburn, Alabama, the home Tigers pulled away with an 53-51 win. Defense proved to be the key in the game and Auburn came away with more stops when it mattered most.

With that came offenses that could not put the ball through the basket. Tennessee shot 31% from the field and Auburn matched closely with a similar 31%. The Vols and Tigers played the entirety of the first half with one made from 3-point land.
The intensity picked up in the final minutes, preventing the No. 6 Vols (18-3, 4-3 SEC) to pull away from the top-ranked Tigers (18-1, 9-0) to continue the run as the last undefeated SEC play.
Hereâs how it happened in âThe Jungle.â
Clobbering defenses leave offenses sparse
Tennessee and Auburn engaged in an early defensive battle. Late shot-clock heaves were common and open shots were irregular.
Auburn got the scoring started with a put-back dunk off an offensive rebound by Dylan Cardwell. Tennessee struggled to find the bottom of the basket, netting two points off a pair of free throws by Zakai Zeigler. It was not until the 14:47 mark of the first half that the Vols got a shot from the field to fall on a dunk by Felix Okpara. By the end of the opening stanza, both teams combined for seven makes from the field on highly inefficient shooting. Auburn shot 22% from the field but held a two-point lead at the break with help from the free throw line.
Struggles persisted and defensive intensity never faltered. Offenses combined for one made 3-pointer across the opening 20 minutes â a make from Johni Broome. Defensively, the sides combined for 10 steals and seven blocks. It was an even effort from both defenses, surrendering nothing easy.
Tennessee turned the ball over eight times, while Auburn responded with five.
Zeigler paced the first-half offensive book with six points on limited looks but did struggle with three misses from the 3-point line. Broome paced the home side with nine points in his return to action.
By the end, Tennessee had 12 turnovers and could not make a shot when it mattered most.
Chaz Lanier struggles early, hits clutch shots late
Conference play has not been kind to the first-year SEC player. After lackluster performances to begin the conference slate for Tennessee, Lanier appeared to turn it around on Tuesday night against Mississippi State â or so one thought.
Saturday night left Lanier without an answer to Auburnâs defense.
Lanier posted 10 points on 11 shots, struggling to create any space against the Tigers. His only first-half make was a fastbreak dunk.
With 12:10 remaining in the game, Lanier finally found the bottom of the net on a jump shot â and it was a big make. Prior to the attempt, the Vols were shooting 0-for-14 from the perimeter. The North Florida transfer laced a nothing-but-net three to tie the game at 33-all and remain in the game.
As Tennessee trailed by two points in the final minutes, Lanier buried a transition three from well beyond the perimeter to put the Vols ahead by a point. Still, it was not enough.
Auburn pulls away in closing seconds
Lanier trailed the play with 3:10 left on the clock. In rhythm with an offense that had anything but momentum, the leading scorer drained the shot to put the Vols in the lead â where the offense for the visitors came alive.
Tennessee mingled with the lead and maintained it in the closing two minutes with help from drawing fouls. Zeigler drilled a pair of free throws and Mashack added one to the tally to make the Vols lead a game-high four points.
Auburn answered with a jumper from Tahaad Pettiford to cut the deficit to two points.
When the Vols had a chance to tie or win, Zeigler missed a corner three with 10 seconds left to seal the game.
Then, Miles Kelly drained a corner three to put Auburn ahead with 30 seconds remaining.
Tennessee returns to Food City Center for a battle with Kentucky on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Cody Gakpo scored twice as Liverpool comfortably saw off struggling Ipswich to maintain their six-point advantage at the top of the Premier League.
The Reds scored three goals in the first half to effectively end the game as a contest, and even looked like going eight clear with a game in hand until 10-man Arsenal beat Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Nevertheless Liverpool did what they had to do to stay on course for a second league title in six years, with Gakpo scoring in either half, while Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah also netted.
Ipswich were thrashed 6-0 at home by reigning champions Manchester City in their last outing and arrived at Anfield clearly determined to avoid a similar scoreline.
They barely offered any attacking threat as they sat deep to try to frustrate Liverpool, but their resistance lasted just 11 minutes as an incisive attack by the Reds opened them up, Ibrahima Konate threading a ball through to Szoboszlai, who drove a shot in at the near post.
Salah has accounted for the majority of Liverpool's goals at Anfield, so it was no surprise when he got on the scoresheet 10 minutes before the break, firing into the roof of the net from a tight angle.
A third duly arrived just before the break when Szoboszlai's shot was parried and Gakpo was on hand to turn in the loose ball.
The second half was largely a non-event with the damage already done, but Gakpo added a fourth when he powered in a header.
The travelling fans were given something to celebrate in stoppage time when Jacob Greaves headed home a consolation from a corner.
Ipswich remain 18th, level on points with Wolves in 17th.

Jadon Sancho is also back in the XI as Pedro Neto's replacement, but as expected the game has come too soon for Romeo Lavia.
It means Robert Sanchez continues in goal, with a back four of Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, Colwill and Marc Cucurella.
Moises Caicedo and Fernandez start in midfield, with Cole Palmer in the more advanced central role, while Noni Madueke and Sancho occupy the flanks.
Nicolas Jackson leads the line once more, with a strong bench that includes Dewsbury-Hall, Neto, Christopher Nkunku, and Marc Guiu as attacking options.
As for our opposition, new signings Abdukodir Khusanov and Omar Marmoush are both handed immediate debuts, while fellow January signing Vitor Reis is named on the bench.
Chelsea: Sanchez; James (c), Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson

The last time Madison Keys lost to Aryna Sabalenka at a Grand Slam, she could not hold back her tears.
In the 2023 US Open semi-finals, Keys served for the match at 5-4 in the second set.
But Sabalenka clawed her way back, winning the second and third sets in tie-breaks to advance and leave Keys with a host of regrets.
Don't forget to subscribe to our channel and hit the bell icon to stay updated with all our latest content!
"I think being able to take this and turn it into a positive is really possible," a sobbing Keys said then.
Now, 16 months later, possibility has turned into reality. The American has clinched a maiden major title at the Australian Open - beating double-defending champion Sabalenka in the final.
Her triumph comes just over seven years after she suffered a heavy defeat in the 2017 US Open final against Sloane Stephens.
But those struggles are behind her. Keys, who turns 30 next month, beat three top-10 players on her way to the Melbourne title, looking composed and clutch in the key moments.
Keys arrived at the Australian Open on red-hot form, having beaten top seed Jessica Pegula to claim the Adelaide International title the previous week.
She saved a match point against five-time Grand Slam champion and second seed Iga Swiatek in the semi-finals, before beating top seed Sabalenka on Saturday.
It is the first time a player has beaten the world's top two en route to a major title since Svetlana Kuznetsova at the 2009 French Open.
There were also impressive wins in the earlier rounds against former Wimbledon champion and seventh seed Elena Rybakina, 10th seed Danielle Collins and three-time Slam semi-finalist Elina Svitolina.
Injuries forced Keys to 'rip things apart'
Keys' success is all the more impressive considering her injury woes in 2024.
The 29-year-old missed last year's Australian Open with a shoulder injury before a hamstring problem ended her Wimbledon run in the fourth round.
Determined to keep competing, Keys - on the advice of her coach and now husband Bjorn Fratangelo - decided to make a change.
Fratangelo convinced her to switch her Wilson racquets for Japanese brand Yonex - a swap he thought would limit her injuries.
"I have no idea why I like this racquet, what it does, like, all the specifics of it. I just knew when I picked it up, it felt really good, and that was the winner," Keys told Bounces on Tuesday., external
And just before the pair got married in November, Fratangelo dragged a "kicking and screaming" Keys into reworking her service motion.
"If you are going to rip things apart, you might as well rip everything apart, right?" she said.

The 97th Academy Award nominees have been unveiled, bringing loads of new trivia, interesting stats, and plenty of records. Many of the new records were broken and set by the impressive performance of âEmilia PĂ©rez,â while Diane Warren extended her nomination streak. With these nominations and more, thereâs no shortage of fascinating awards trivia through which to sift.
âEmilia PĂ©rezâ received 13 nominations, the most for any non-English-language film in Academy Awards history. It surpassed previous record holders âRomaâ and âCrouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,â which each received 10 nominations.
âEmilia PĂ©rezâ is the 12th film to receive 13 nominations. Last year, âOppenheimerâ also received 13 nominations, making this the second time that films have received 13 nominations at back-to-back Academy Awards. This first occurred in 2001 and 2002, with âThe Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,â followed by âChicago.â
Three films received ten or more nominations: âEmilia PĂ©rezâ (13), âThe Brutalistâ (10), and âWickedâ (10). This is the fifth time this has occurred, after 2023, 2019, 1977, and 1964.
Both Sean Baker and Jacques Audiard received four individual nominations this year. Two people (who are not a directing team) have never achieved this in the same year. They are tied for the third-most nominations by a single person in a single year. Seven others have received four in a single year: Elliot J. Clawson (1930), Warren Beatty (1978, 1981), Alan Menken (1991), Joel & Ethan Coen (2007), Alfonso Cuaron (2018), and Chloe Zhao (2020). Walt Disney holds the record with six nominations in 1954, and Francis Ford Coppola received five in 1974.
Jacques Audiard (âEmilia PĂ©rezâ) is the first-ever person to receive nominations for producing, directing, writing, and songwriting for a single film. Previously, Spike Jonze was the only person to receive nominations in all four of these categories, but not for one single film.
For the second time in Academy Awards history, all five Best Director nominees are also nominated for writing their films. This previously occurred in 2022. Unlike that year, this yearâs nominations are spread between both Original and Adapted Screenplay.
âWickedâ is the first film to receive ten nominations without a nomination for either directing or writing.
